The Clos Henri estate is part winery and part estate. There is a deep commitment to the land, and we are seeing the results now in the wines. The wines feel more integrated and relaxed. We notice the layers from lees and barrel-ageing, but most of all from ripe concentration. These wines are not about extraction or obvious aromatics; they merely reflect the understanding and channelling of terroir. Named for the Waimaungan Glaciation period that was instrumental in forging this unique terroir, this Marlborough Pinot Noir is characterised by bold spice and dark fruits, a careful balance of terroir and winemaking, resulting in a powerful and supple organic wine that shows off the layers of weathered, windblown clays that nursed its grapes.

This wine oozes with plum and warm baking spices which slowly evolves into vibrant cherry and boysenberry that are perfectly balanced on the palate. The tannins are velvety and carry balanced structure and weight that result in a wine that is complex yet full of finesse.

"Complex, dry, layered, textured bouquet. Fine layers of soil and soil smoke then baking spices of barrel. Dry, excellent texture and length, Fabulous tannins and length. Lovely core of fruit." 96 points, Cam Douglas MS, 2023
