Monsieur Henri Bourgeois from Sancerre has brought a decidedly French feel to this hand-crafted New World Sauvignon. It has a typical ripe Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc nose of gooseberry and passionfruit. Fresh citrus aromas are present throughout the long palate that begins with intensity and hints at minerality as it lingers for a long mouth-filling Sancerre-like finish. This wine will open in the glass and is greater with food. Expected to age well for at least 5 years.

"Elegant, sophisticated, ripe, varietal and inviting bouquet. Aromas and flavours of citrus fruits and white stone fruit, some pear, apple and pith. The herbaceous character expected of SB is a quieter more refined layer in this example. The minerality is a core component of both the aromas and flavour package. Light-weight, crisp, dry and refreshing with a long finish. Balanced, well made and youthful. This wine will reward from today and through 2029+ if cellared properly." 94 points, Cam Douglas MS, 2023

When Clos Henri were re-imagining the labels, it seemed only fitting to pay tribute to the biodiversity by incorporating the indigenous species of the Marlborough Valley and sharing the story of their commitment to native replanting and re-establishment. The aim is for this Sauvignon Blanc to transport you to a place where their organic vines thrive and coexist with an abundance of New Zealand native species such as kowhai and tui.
