Gigondas 'Terrasses de Montmirail' – Alain Jaume & Fils

This is a full and fruity wine from the Rhône, which is deep red garnet in colour. Subtle notes of smoke can be detected on the nose, followed by a luscious peppery yet well-balanced wine on the palate. Alain Jaume’s Gigondas is velvety yet shows fresh acidity with a crisp mineral undertone. 

Sector of the "Dentelles de Montmirail", where the landscape is strongly marked by a rocky bar varying from 100 to 600 meters in speed. The soils are clay-sandy and calcareous. The Dentelles massif emerged under the influence of the push of the Pyrenees and in opposition to that of the Alps. It is a favourite terroir for the production of powerful and fresh wines. The nights are indeed cooler and the grapes ripen quite late. Intense colour with typical aromas of Grenache (blackberry, blackcurrant), undergrowth and spices.

A racy and elegant Gigondas with a full-bodied mouthfeel. The finish is long with spicier and mineral notes including crushed rock and graphite.
