Alaine Jaume’s ‘Cuvée Prestige’ is one of the most attractive and outstanding wines – the aromas and flavours are astonishing! On the nose, intense aromas of ripe fruit (kirsch, blackberry), spices, toasted coffee and vanilla exude. On the palate, we find this great aromatic complexity; Spices and ripe fruit appear on extremely concentrated and silky tannins. The finish has a long aromatic persistence and is oriented towards iodine, liquorice and peppery notes. A Châteauneuf-du-Pape for laying down that combines great concentration and finesse.

Decanter Score - 95

The powerful, gutsy Mourvèdre element is very much in evidence, bringing a solid base and firmness of body to the core of the wine. It's tannic, and will take time to come round, but the tannins are fine, detailed and succulent and the finish is long. A grand and monumental Châteauneuf for an affordable price. Fermented in stainless steel, matured half in concrete tanks and half in new barrels (the wood is very well integrated) - Matt Walls (Tasting Sept 2023)
